Ethiopian Calendar, Bahre Hasab & More
Par Meseret Worku Alemu
A rich Ethiopian calendar and Bahre Hasab add-on for NVDA. It reports the current Ethiopian date, the full Bahre Hasab (Amete Alem, Wengelawi, Metqe, Abekte, Mebaja Hamer, Tewsak and more), movable feasts and fasts, fasting and liturgical seasons, Great Lent weekly names, lunar age, moon phase, and zodiac. It also offers the daily Gitsawe — the three church services (Morning, Eucharist, Evening) — with the full Bible passage inlined for every citation, plus the Synaxarium of saints for any Ethiopian date, national FDRE holidays, an Islamic (Hijri) calendar, and a Hebrew calendar. Additional tools include an exact Ethiopian age calculator, a planning workspace with agenda and export to CSV, JSON, Markdown, HTML and iCal, a menstrual cycle tracker with ovulation and fertile window prediction, a pregnancy due date calculator, and Ethiopian local and Bahre Hasab 'kekros' times. Every result is rendered as a fully navigable HTML page with headings, lists and tables, so NVDA users can jump around quickly with H, T and L. Amharic and English supported.
